Hello!

The American Muggle now has two writers! The first is myself (the writer of the first post), and the second is my brother. To make things more fun we will not be using our muggle names; rather, we will be using pen names that we have created specifically for this site. I will be known as Miss Granger. I picked this pen name because I relate most to Hermione in the series. In the muggle world I am going to school to be a teacher, and Hermione's teachers called her "Miss Granger." Hence, I am Miss Granger. :) Now, the rest of this post will be dedicated to our newest writer introducing himself. I give you Mr. Frederick Lovegood.

So, apparently, I'm supposed to introduce myself since there are now two writers for The American Muggle. For the sake of identifying me, I shall call myself Mr. Frederick Lovegood. Mock if you will, but I love my pen name and I shall stick to it.

As for my experience with Harry Potter, well, my earliest memory of anything related to it is when we saw The Chamber of Secrets in theaters. I have no real memories of my older sister reading the first four books to me, however, she loves to remind of it. I didn't start reading the books myself until the fifth book came out. At the time I wasn't a strong reader so my sister helped me through most of the book. The first Harry Potter book I read by myself was the sixth book (my sister would say otherwise), even though I only remember reading the end by myself. If anything, I know for a certainty I read the last book by myself.

Because of the odd way in which I experienced the books, my better memories come from seeing the movies. That was all fine with me until one day I was having a chat with one of my friends after seeing the final movie. He was talking about events from the books which I couldn't at all recall. So I set out to read the entire series start to finish. The first four books I got through in one month and then school started up again so the rest took another three months.

Now having a well-rounded knowledge of the books and movies, I have set out to discover more of the Harry Potter canon through Pottermore as well as some new books I recently purchased. Said books being The Tales of Beedle the Bard, Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them, and Quidditch through the Ages. I shall be sure to keep you up to date with those.

I should also note that I was sorted into Gryffindor on Pottermore. Although not my ideal choice, I've learned to accept this house as my own.
